Help and Advice for Candidates

Whether you have registered with agencies before or not you may have some questions about the procedures. We have compiled a few of the standard questions people tend to ask which we hope will be useful to you. Of course if you do have any further questions we will be pleased to answer them as best we can.

Will it cost me anything to register?

No, there are no charges to you.

How do I register with you?

All you need to do is contact us on 01302 572110, and speak to one of the team. We will arrange (where possible) a convenient time to meet and go through your CV in a bit more detail and discuss your current situation. We will also need to see some identification, the easiest being a photo card driving licence, or passport along with a utility bill.

Do I have to have an interview with you?

Yes, we need to interview you to go through in detail your past work experience and discuss what sort of work you are looking for. This would be either a face to face meeting or telephone interview which will give us more information which we can use to find you work you will be happy in.

Do I need to provide a typed CV?

Our preference is to receive any CVs as a Microsoft Word document, as this means a much faster and more reliable service to our clients. Where this is not possible, a typed CV is acceptable via post or in person, and we will ensure it is added to our database.

Will you contact my present employers and take references?

We will only contact your present or previous employer/s with your permission. This is usually to request a reference from them once you have already been offered alternative work, and is an ESSENTIAL part of the service we provide. Without references, we will be unable to find you any temporary or permanent work.

What do I need to do when I start a temporary/contract position?

When we find you a temporary position you will need to read and sign our temporary workers Terms and Conditions form. We will agree an hourly rate for the role and this along with the job and company details will be confirmed to you in writing. At the same time, we will also send out a starter pack to you including a timesheet to fill out your first weeks hours on and any information that we feel will help you. Finally we will request a P45/P46 from you.
